Meg

MEG is a native of Queens, NY, (with the occasional accent to prove it), where she previously worked as a Ranger on the High Line in New York City. She lives in the D.C. area and has resided here for over 10 years, moving here 3 separate times – she loves the city so much that each time she had to leave she had to come back! She is thrilled to have the chance to share her loves of this city and of history with everyone who joins her on the Embassy Row and Women Who Changed America walks.

She is partial to haunted histories as she was born on Halloween, but is especially interested in U.S. presidential history and trivia. Meg is also a licensed clinical social worker and she is passionate about working towards ending chronic homelessness in D.C. She received both her B.A.s in English and Sociology and Masters in Social Work from Fordham University.

Meg previously lived in El Salvador where she worked leading international delegations accompanying marginalized Salvadoran populations with the organization CRISPAZ, and continues to serve on their board of directors. When not on walks (or enjoying walking tours in other cities), Meg enjoys traveling with her husband and daughters towards her goals of visiting all 30 MLB stadiums (17 down!) and collecting stamps in her National Parks Passport.

Where would you take an out-of-town visitor and why? People watching at Malcolm X/Meridian Park on a Sunday afternoon. On a good day you can enjoy the weather with a picnic surrounded by drum circles, acrobats, dancers, and beyond!”
