DAVID traces his love of history to having grown up next to Old Bethpage Village Restoration, a recreated mid-19th century living history village on Long Island. He moved to the D.C. area in 2003 following a stint as a park ranger at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum in New York City. David volunteers at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum in Old Town Alexandria where he shows off one of 18th century Virginia’s classiest establishments. One of the things David likes best about D.C. is how easy it is to get around by bike and on mass transit. He serves on the board of directors for Alexandria’s DASH Bus System and is a frequent user of Capital Bikeshare.
Where would you take an out-of-town visitor and why? “A bike ride along the Capital Crescent Trail — a rail trail which has lots of natural beauty and remnants of the old rail line infrastructure.”
